Katrina, Alia unveil fitness book Sculpt and Shape: The Pilates Way

The title is misleading.. This book is good for someone who hasn't ever worked out and needs an introduction and a kick start. It's not extensive either, talks about diet on a very high level.

There's also a whole chapter on the history of pilates?!.

Every chapter has celebrity endorsement for the book and Yasmin's body image and it seems to work against the flow of the book. The chapter on posture is pretty informative. But besides that the book can be skipped unless you are looking for an absolute mini beginner's guide. I've worked out with Zeena for several years now and in that time have learned more about my body than in four decades of yoga;- but who knew she could write!

This book is both specific- do this, not that- and broad- this is what you need to know about good posture. I also appreciate the structure of the book, especially "How to Use This Book. Not everything in the early chapters will speak to you initially, but read it anyway- take your time- then do the exercises.

Well done, Zeena and Yasmin! This book really Motivated me to try Pilates. The authors do a great job of giving a brief description of how Pilates came to be and the impact it can have on your body, as well as on your healthy lifestyle.

My favorite chapter was the one on posture. Why it's so important, and ways to know what type of posture you have and how to improve it.

During the course of reading the book a Pilates studio came into my town and I am so excited to now be a member. Thank you for the motivation! I was very impressed with the book and the authors' experiences.

The fact that the exercises are towards the end helped a lot as the book outlined the history of Pilates and explained the science of good nutrition and correct posture so one can do the exercises correctly and get full benefit and optimum results.

I thought that my posture was good because I do yoga, but this book brought a lot of awareness to my posture, correct breathing, walking properly, etc.

I like to understand the science behind an exercise, so for me this book proved to be very useful and I will always keep it handy. This is an excellent book for some one who wants pursue a lifestyle change and achieve a balanced body through sensible dose of diet and Pilates training. Having personally taken Pilates training, this book has been a great refresher. I found the emphasis in the book on posture management and developing core strength particularly well documented and illustrated.
